Thank you to the nearly 200 people who came to the Berkshire Mall in Reading, Pennsylvania on February 24th to show their support for a mother's right to breastfeed her child anytime, anywhere. Yes, we were there to support the mother who was asked to cover up, go to the bathroom, or go outside in 30 degree weather to feed her baby rather than make some unknown person uncomfortable. We were there to prove to the management of the mall that the mother was not alone in the feelings of outrage that she felt over this blatant intolerance for one of nature's purest, most essential acts. We were there to announce in our own creative way that things need to change. And they will.
There is no way to calculate the impact of an event such as Saturday's, but we all know that something shifts each time we come together like this. As well as making a statement within our communities that this is an important issue to many people, we confirm to ourselves that we are not alone, that together we are stronger, that together we WILL change the way things are.
Thank you to everyone who joins in this revolution to secure the rights of breastfeeding mothers and children in Pennsylvania.
