BWB PROJECTS

From its conception, BWB has been actively working to bring awareness to childbirth issues in our various communities - please enter here to view some of our past projects and events.

  MISSION STATEMENT

Birth Without Boundaries, International is an international organization that exists to eliminate restrictions imposed on birthing women and their babies. Birth Without Boundaries works with other organizations to form a global network to connect mothers and babies to supportive care.

  VISION

We envision women choosing nurturing birth environments where gentle, respectful caregivers encourage women to work with their bodies to achieve a normal, natural, peaceful birth to babies who are alert and able to self-attach and breastfeed successfully.

  VALUES

  1. We respect the intimate and powerful connection between mothers and babies, recognizing that actions and interventions in pregnancy and birth will impact mother/infant bonding, breastfeeding, and the physical and emotional well-being of babies and their mothers.
  2. Birth is a rite of passage in a woman's life which should be valued, without fear, for its capacity to provide her with strength and confidence as she becomes a mother.
  3. We support practices that respect birth, protect breastfeeding, and enhance mother-infant bonding and encourage the elimination of unnecessary medical interventions.
  4. Women have the right to be fully informed and make healthy childbearing choices that protect the connection between mother and baby.
  5. We believe efforts to achieve optimal childbearing outcomes should not be undermined by any person, professional or otherwise, involved in a woman's pregnancy, birth or postpartum process.
  6. Women of all cultures deserve to have their childbearing practices and decisions respected.
